Today,whilst floating in the beautiful water at the beach, I thought of a few things. Considering, you know, it's getting near to the time of the year where we all recieve gifts and celebrate.
I was thinking how truly lucky I am, to have friends, family, food, a home, pets and live in a beautiful country where poverty doesn't exist, and we are free people. I am lucky because I go to a good school and I am happy and get my breaks and presents during the holiday seasons.
I was thinking how rich we all are. You may not be rich compared to people around you, but in comparison to the rest of the world, we are in the moderately wealthy category because we have food, internet, a home, etc. Some children work all day just to earn one small meal a day, and in many places people are living in the same or similar conditions.
These thoughts continued through my head when I got home and sat down to talk to my amazing friends from all over the world, including people living just down the road and people living on the other side of the earth.
So stop for a moment, and appreciate what you have, and not what you don't have - because what you don't have is nothing compared to what millions of people go without every minute of every day.
